Backup Process & Go Live

  1. Have support on Speed Dial: Camilo | 607 351 3543 | camilo@camilographics.com
  2. Create a “veil”: maintenance landing page and/or index.html. This veil page should have all page options turned off so that it is a very plain page. When this process is complete, you can keep this page for future use.
  3. Remove unused themes
  4. Export Pagelines settings: Pagelines > Dashboard > Import/Export
  5. Backup Pagelines Customize CSS: Plugins > Editor > Pagelines Cutomize > Choose the CSS file > Copy and paste into document or email
  6. Copy Header Scripts (if applicable)
  7. Download Site via FTP
  8. Export WordPress: Tools > Export
  9. Backup Database at Host
  10. Take setting Screenshots
  11. Disable Plugins
  12. Update WordPress
  13. Update Theme
  14. Turn plugins back on one by one
  15. Style theme if anything needs attention
  16. Remove Unused Plugins that no longer work after update
  17. Add security plugins: failed login attempts, spam-free wordpress
  18. Change all passwords, send new ones
  19. Troubleshoot as needed
  20. Remove Veil
